Trish Becker, LCSW
Psychotherapist
I began my experience in the mental health field as a case manager in the city of Chicago, where I worked for many years with clients who were homeless and struggling with schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and other mental illnesses. Most of these men and women also suffered from co-occurring substance abuse issues. I left Chicago to do graduate work at Simmons College in Boston, where I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and became licensed as a clinical social worker (LCSW) with a focus on psychotherapy. Since then, I have worked as a therapist in several different settings including a hospital, an outpatient mental health clinic and a college counseling center.
I relocated to the West Coast to accept a position as a therapist at Promises Treatment Centers in Malibu. Promises is a 31-day inpatient program for individuals struggling with addiction and other mental health issues. After working at Promises for several years, I made the transition into full-time private practice.
I have expertise in treating individuals with addiction issues as well as clients dealing with mental health conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, and difficulties with relationships, family, job or school.
